  “Besides the fact that Kenzie is missing?” He asked, his voice angry.

  “And if she showed up now with all the females surrounding you, what would she think?”

  “I’m not fucking them, we are just eating.” Zahin ran his hand down his face with exasperation.

  “I’ve found Kenzie.” Tolan stood up in a hurry.

  “Where is she?” He demanded his heart racing. He had to find her, to talk to her.

  Zahin narrowed his eyes at him. He remembered how he felt when Eliana went missing, but if he let Tolan around Kenzie right now, he’d just upset her again. He still didn’t have any idea about Earth females. “Let’s go to my rooms Tolan and I’ll explain what I can.” He knew that wasn’t what he wanted to hear, but agreed anyway.

  Zahin sat with Eliana, while Tolan sat across from them. “Tolan, before I tell you anything, you need to talk with Eliana so what happened will never repeat itself.”

  “I know what happened, and I haven’t fucked anyone since.” He said with vehemence. Eliana looked like she wanted to say something, but refrained.

  “Eliana, could you please tell him how you felt when Tula touched me. Also, let him know how an Earth female would react to finding her male eating while surrounded by many females.” Elaina narrowed her eyes while she looked at Tolan.

  “Any chance you ever had of getting her back would be gone. Unlike here, we don’t share! Do you understand? If you want to be with her, it will be only her! You don’t let other females touch you…at all! When I saw Tula rub her hand up and down Zahin’s arm, and he didn’t stop her, I felt betrayed. After we had marked each other, I wanted to punch her just for talking to him. You have to decide now Tolan, is this something you can live with? If it’s not, then leave her be.”

  Tolan thought about what Eliana said and realized he really didn’t know much about their culture. The one thing he knew for sure was he would do anything to have her back. “I can do that.” He said as all the fight left him.

  Zahin looked at him, and sighed. “She went with Dar to his beach house.” Tolan jumped up, all the anger back.

  “She’s with Dar!” He started pacing again. All this time he’d worried about her and she had been with Dar! He knew his friend, knew he’d always wanted to fuck Kenzie. How could they have done this to him, how could she have done this! Then he stopped as he realized how Kenzie must have felt. Heartbroken. That was the word for how he felt now. He sat back down… in defeat.

  “Tolan?” He never looked up. “Tolan?” Zahin said louder. When he finally raised his head, Zahin saw the pain in his eyes. “It’s not like that. Dar says he loves her like a sister and they have never had sex. He took her with him because she was devastated after what happened. Why don’t we all go to the beach?” He turned to Eliana, “We can get either your parents or mine to watch Destiny.” They agreed.

  The Beach

  Chapter 13

  As they exited the transport, Eliana looked at Zahin “Why haven’t you ever brought me here? This place is breath taking!” Zahin just shook his head and smiled while they made their way to the front door.

  Dar answered before they had a chance to knock. He bowed his head slightly and opened the door to allow them entrance. “We were just sitting down to third meal.” They followed him into the eating area.

  When Kenzie spotted Tolan coming her way, her heart sped up. I guess it didn’t get the memo about not wanting him anymore. As he neared, she could feel the electrical tingles start at the base of her neck and run down her arms. She looked down at her food hoping to hide her reaction. How could he invoke such a reaction after what he did to her? She felt angry with herself for still caring, for still wanting him. She knew she couldn’t put herself in that position again. She now had to think about her baby. Baby…oh God, if he finds out she’s pregnant he might not let her move to Santar. She needed to make sure she didn’t get up, as the table hid her belly.

  “Kenzie?” Tolan said with a soft voice filled with desperation. When she didn’t look up right away, he tried again. “Kenzie, please look at me.” She looked up and saw the pain in his eyes. “I’m sorry.”

  “I’ve heard that before, but don’t worry, you’re forgiven.” Kenzie said softly.

  “So you will come back with me?” He asked with happiness.

  She narrowed her eyes at him. Was he crazy? “No. I said I have forgiven you. Now you can move on and not worry about me. That’s how it works.” He looked confused, then angry.

  “I am not moving on without you. I want us to be together.”

  “Tolan, do you remember us talking about all the males I dated on Earth?” He nodded. “Remember what they did? I told you that I wouldn’t put myself in that position again? Well, I’m telling you that I will not put myself in that position again.” She lowered her head and whispered, “I wouldn’t survive it.”

  “Kenzie please, I love you.”

  “No, you don’t or you wouldn’t have been screwing someone else. I saw it all. Please, just go home.” She said, trying not to cry.

  Tolan didn’t know what to do. Kenzie looked so vulnerable, so small and all he wanted to do was comfort her. He turned desperate eyes to his brother and saw that he also was at a loss for words. Eliana walked over to him, patted him on the shoulder and said, “Why don’t you all wait in the common room and let me talk to her.” He nodded as they left the two females alone.

  Eliana took a seat across the table. “Hey Kenzie. Nice place to hang out. I wish I’d known about it before now, the beach is amazing.”

  Kenzie finally looked at Eliana, “Yeah it is. I never get tired of the black sand, or watching the lavender water. It’s peaceful, you know?”

  “Oh yeah, I think I’m gonna make Zahin buy us a place here.” Kenzie snorted a laugh.

  “You’re gonna make him? Girl, I can’t see you making these men do anything.”

  “Oh, you’d be surprised. I’ve actually changed them a lot since I’ve been here.” Kenzie laughed and then looked at her with serious eyes.

  “You know what happened?”

  “Yeah, I do.”

  “I can’t be with him, Lanie.”

  This was more serious than Eliana thought. Kenzie had reverted to her childhood name, and she only did that when she was desperate. “Tell me what’s going on in that head of yours?”

  “Every man I’ve ever dated has cheated on me. I don’t know why, but I’m not good enough.” Tears came to her eyes. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me Lanie.” She moved over to hug her friend.

  “Ok, I’m going to tell you a story, but no judging me. Got it?” Kenzie nodded. “When Zahin first rescued me we had all kinds of problems. They are very promiscuous and that went against everything I believed in. The first time I had sex with Zahin in his room on the Vimana, I opened my eyes and found Dar jacking off.” Kenzie’s eyes were huge with surprise, but before she could say anything, Eliana held up her hand. “Zahin didn’t mind and didn’t know what the big deal was because he had told him that he couldn’t join us, and he hadn’t. Then I found out Zahin had had sex with this bitch named Tula. She ended up kidnapping me and sending me back to the Agrarians. Let’s see, what else. Zahin’s parents hated me and tried to set him up with others. Once, Dar and Tolan watched us have sex.” She glanced up to see Kenzie with her hand over her mouth. “And Zahin likes to invite other men to have sex with us. However, he knows if he ever touches another female, he’s toast! I know this sounds awful, but it’s their culture. He gave up all other females, so I allowed him to invite other males. It’s give and take.”

  Kenzie sat there stunned. She had no idea that Eliana had been through all of that, and it made her feel better knowing she had had problems with the other females. “Do you think I should give Tolan another chance?”

  “Yes, at least hear him out. He hasn’t touched anyone since you left. He’s been a wreck Kenzie, and I think you need to talk. I’m glad I gave Zahin a second chance. However, make sure
he knows the score. If he ever touches another female, that’s it.”

  Kenzie nodded. Then with curious eyes she asked, “Do you like having sex with two guys at once?” She laughed at Eliana’s exasperated look.

  “This was why I didn’t want to tell you.

  I knew you’d ask that.”

  “Well, do you?” She giggled.

  “Yes.”

  Kenzie became serious again. “Did he ever invite Tolan?”

  “Kenzie, I love you but you should not worry about things that happened before Tolan knew you existed.” She realized two things with that comment. One, Eliana has had sex with him, and two, she was right. She shouldn’t worry about things that happened before she even knew him. Everyone had a past. “Are you Ok?” Kenzie nodded. “Will you talk to him?” After a few minutes, she slowly nodded and Eliana smiled, “Good, I’ll go get him.”

  A couple of minutes later, Tolan came in and sat down. He looked devastated, and she didn’t like that. “I’m so sorry Kenzie, I never meant to hurt you. I didn’t want to admit how much I cared for you, how much I love you.” He reached for her hand, and surprisingly she let him take it. “I promise to never touch another female besides you again. That night...” He saw her wince. “That night, as soon as I was inside her, I realized how much I loved you and I hated myself for what I had done. I pushed them away and told them to leave. I went to find you, but you had left. Zahin thought that you had went to stay with your family, and to give you some space. I waited, but you never came back. I swear I haven’t touched anyone since you’ve been gone. Please Kenzie, give me another chance.”

  Should she? She always told herself to walk away, and that’s what she always did in the past. She loved him, she had no doubt about that, she just didn’t trust him. As she sat quietly weighing her options, he didn’t say a word. As she looked into his eyes, she said, “If I give you another chance, we have to take it slow. Trust has to be earned, and right now, I don’t trust you. I’ll warn you though, if you ever cheat on me again then we are finished. There will not be a third chance.”

  Tolan was ecstatic! He could prove his love, and he would show her she could trust him. “I can do that. Thank you Kenzie, I love you!” He stood up to hug her, thinking she’d do the thing, but she just sat there. “Kenzie?”

  She knew that the table came to just below her breast and hid her huge belly. I guess she had to tell him, well everyone now. “Can you ask the others to come back in here?” He nodded, but she noticed the look of confusion on his face. As everyone entered, she looked at Dar, “Can you help me up?” She scooted back from the table as Dar held out his hand. She grabbed it and pulled herself to a standing position. She heard the gasp as the three newcomers looked at her belly. She noticed surprise, then rage cross Tolan’s face. She automatically stepped closer to Dar.

  Tolan couldn’t believe it. She was with young! He had felt so guilty about being with other females, but she had obviously been with Dar! Rage filled him and he turned murderous eyes on Dar. “I’m going to kill you!” Then he turned to Kenzie, “You were upset with me? When were you with Dar?” He turned and walked out the back door. He couldn’t look at either one of them right now.

  Kenzie turned into Dar and sobbed as he wrapped his arms around her. She wasn’t sure if Tolan didn’t want the baby, or mad because she had kept it from him. Here she was…crying again. She untangled herself from Dar, and walked into the common room, and then out the front door. She could only waddle, but she decided she needed to take a walk on the beach to clear her head.

  Dar stood there with Zahin and Eliana. He was furious with Tolan. Looking at Zahin he said, “I know he is a Prince, and your brother, but I am going to beat his ass!” As he turned to find Tolan, he heard Zahin’s words.

  “Permission granted.”

  Dar found Tolan pacing out back. He looked up just in time to see Dar’s fist before hitting him in the face. He stumbled back from the blow, but Dar followed and hit him again. The next swing Dar threw, Tolan blocked and hit Dar in the left cheek. Dar jumped on Tolan and took him to the ground. Straddling him, he was able to rain more punches before Tolan finally just covered his face. At the defensive move, Dar stopped. Heaving, he moved off his friend. Tolan stood, holding his bleeding nose while glaring at Dar. “What the hell is your problem?” Tolan shouted.

  “You are asshole! Kenzie catches you with your dick stuck in someone else, and I had to watch her cry. I’ve taken care of her all this time, and when she agrees to give you another chance, you accuse her of fucking me and deny your young! Then you walk out, and I am once again left with a sobbing Kenzie!”

  “My young? You haven’t fucked her?” He asked with hope in his voice.

  Shaking his head, and with a humorless laugh, Dar said, “Forget it asshole,” and walked back inside. He found Zahin and Eliana sitting at the table. They looked up with wide eyes, and then Zahin chuckled.

  “I guess you really did kick his ass, by the way, nice shiner.”

  A few minutes later, a stunned Tolan walked through the door and took a seat at the table. He finally looked at Zahin, “I’m going to be a father.” He couldn’t believe it. Her belly was big, so… “She was with young when she left?” He said while looking at Dar.

  “Yes, she told me right after we arrived here and that’s why I wouldn’t leave. I had to protect her and your son.” Dar had finally calmed down. He took the last seat at the table.

  “I can’t believe I have been such an idiot. She had just agreed to give me another chance, and I accused her of fucking Dar.” He said.

  “I have never fucked her. She is like a sister to me.” Dar said, making sure he understood that he would still stand by her.

  “I need to talk to her. Where did she go?”

  “I think she went to the common room.”

  Kenzie had walked a long way while crying. The waves that once calmed her didn’t help. As her sadness and anger pushed her onward, she couldn’t even see the house anymore. She thought of how angry Tolan was, which made her even angrier. How could he be upset because she was pregnant? They had had sex a lot! The more she remembered what he had said; she realized he thought she had slept with Dar. They would have still been on the ship from Earth them. What an asshole!

  As she trudged on, she felt a cramp. Stopping, she felt a stronger cramp as she bent over to hold her stomach. When it finally past, she thought about heading back to the house, but decided to sit down and rest instead. She didn’t want to overdo it. She sat watching the waves as she thought about the beaches back on Earth. Her life had changed so much in the past year.

  Tolan walked back in the eating area, “I can’t find her.” He said, slightly alarmed. He looked to Dar who had spent the most time with her.

  “Did you check the bedroom?” Dar asked.

  “Yes, I checked the whole house.” Tolan said, feeling guilty and very anxious. Where could she have went?

  “She must be walking on the beach. She really enjoys that.” They made their way outside, and looking both directions, found she was nowhere in sight. Zahin and Eliana joined them. “Tolan, you go that direction, I’ll go this way. Zahin, you and Eliana stay here in case she comes back.” They nodded and Tolan and Dar went in opposite directions.

  Tolan spotted Kenzie sitting on the beach. Feeling relieved, he took a seat beside her. “I love the beach.” Kenzie said, not looking at him. “It’s so peaceful.” He watched the wave’s crash with her.

  “I’m sorry Kenzie. I know you are probably tired of hearing me say that. I used to be calm and level headed until I met you.” His laugh held no humor. “When I saw you were with young, I became insanely jealous. I thought it belonged to Dar, and that’s why you left with him.” She still hadn’t looked at him. “I now know why you don’t like other females around me.” She turned her head and their eyes locked. “I want you to be my Ardhangini. I want to raise our young together. I promise never to touch another, or let anyone but you touch me. I can�
��t live without you Kenzie.” He saw the tears fill her eyes.

  “You hurt me.”

  “Yes.”

  “You accused me of sleeping with Dar.”

  “Yes.”

  “Don’t hurt me again! I can’t take it.” He pulled her into his arms and gave her a tender kiss that portrayed all of his love for her. He ran his hands through her hair as he continued to kiss her. When he pulled her in for a hug, he heard her whisper, “I love you too.”

  “I know you do. I was just too stupid to accept it. Will you be my Ardhangini?” Tolan asked as he pulled her closer to him. Then he felt a kick to his stomach. He leaned back and looked at her belly. “What was that?”

  “The baby kicked you.” She giggled, as he stared in wonder. “He is always active this time of day.”

  “May I?” Tolan asked with his hand held out. He wanted to feel her belly, feel the young, his young. At her nod, he placed his hand on her belly and felt the kick again. “He’s strong.” He said with pride in his voice. “How far along are you?”

  “I don’t know.” She admitted. His eyes darted back to hers with surprise, and she saw the question in them. “I haven’t been checked. I knew I was pregnant, with young…whatever, before I left, even when I trained with Cadas, but I never told anyone.”

  “We have to get you back to the palace so Cadas can check you over,” Anxiety evident in his tone. “Judging by your size, you could have the young at any time!”

  “Are you saying I’m fat?” She teased.

  “What? Fat. NO! I’m not saying that at all.”

  “I’m sorry, I’m just teasing you. I know I’m huge.” She laughed, and it was the sweetest sound he had ever heard.

  “So will you be my Ardhangini?”

  She stared at him for a few minutes, then said “Yes, but I will not share you, and don’t you even think about bringing another male into our bed!” At his embarrassed look, she said, “Yes, I know about Eliana.” He smiled.
