  “I’m going to take care of a couple of traitors. Let’s go Algie.” Pakhi and Algie confronted the two males and escorted them out as I sat there with Cedrick. As we finished our food, I asked if he would like to go to the gathering room. He gave me a confused look.

  “The room where all the males gather and drink.”

  The two Rahu, Ostur and Utan, sat across from Algie and I in the detainment room. I would have my answers one way or another. They sat there with their backs straight and their faces neutral. They thought I couldn’t feel their fear. I turned to Ostur first. “Why did you try to kill my mate?” I waited but he said nothing. I then looked to Utan, “Was this your plan or someone elses?” Still nothing.

  “Pakhi, if we want answers, we will have to take them.”

I will give them one more chance and that is all.” I looked at Ostur and then Utan and said “Males, this is your last chance to tell me what I want to know.” I could feel the fear, but they remained silent. “Algie, you get the information from Utan, and I will get what I can from Ostur.”

  “Agreed, Ostur also thought he was doing this to help Rahu. The only thing he knew was Omar has someone on the inside at the palace, but he did not know who.”

  “What do you wish to do?”

  “Find Omar.” I was upset and I would have my answers. I did not wait this long to find my mate just to lose her. “Adriana, where are you love?”

  “We are in the Common Chambers having a glass of Barla.” I left to find my mate. I decided to walk there so I could calm down before seeing her as the anger was radiating from me. Everyone I met in the corridor moved out of my way.

  “No, you didn’t tell me that. How far away is it?” “I am very happy with you Pakhi, but it would be such a relief to let mom and dad know that I’m Ok, and happy. I can’t imagine what they are going through right now.”

  “I understand love. I would feel the same way if our situation was reversed.” “It takes about one Standard Santar year to get there. The Agrarians use a wormhole that only takes about one standard week, but it is much too dangerous. I’d guess they lose half their ships.”

  “Are you planning a trip there?” Her hope and excitement were almost overwhelming. I had to laugh.

  “Yes, we are. You’re my mate so it makes sense that other mates may be on Earth as well. We thought we would die out as a species, but you have gave us such hope. Algie wants to head the mission after we reach home and discuss it with our parents.”

  “Can we go to?” I felt his disapproval immediately. “Or can Algie give my parents a message for me?”

  “It would be hard for us to go Adriana, as I am the Prince of Sandar. Two standard years is a long time to be gone. I’m sure Algie would be glad to contact your parents.”

  “Thank you Pakhi. I’m sure they will be surprised to see Algie. Did I tell you that we have not achieved space travel, except to the moon and one of the nearby planets? Humans don’t know that other life exists.”

  “What?” He said surprised. “This will change how we approach the situation. Will you help us when we plan this mission?”

  Chapter 7

  Cedrick and I made our way to the Common Chambers. I really needed a drink and I didn’t care about what the others thought.   Two standard hours later, the Agrarian ship fired at us. We received minimal damage, and returned fire. “Commander, there are two ships instead of one. They were so close that our radar only registered the one, and it’s firing at our engines.”

  “Take it out!” The Agrarians got one good shot before we destroyed it. The other ship turned tail and left. They did enough damage to render us vulnerable to another attack. “Cedrick, contact the Sukararians. I believe the Vimana is still close by. See if they will offer assistance while we make repairs.”

  “Yes Commander.”

  “You did this?” He sounded skeptical.

  “Yes, although I let one get away. Sorry. I don’t know his name, but just look for the one with the bleeding nose.” Cedrick and Algie just shook their heads. I guess this was not normal female behavior.
