  I found Algie and Cedrick sitting with Omar and Zetu. I nodded at both males as I walked to their side of the table. I looked at one and then the other, as both males were looking at me. “I’ll give you one chance to tell me why you did this, and who all is involved.” Neither said anything. “Very well, Algie you have Zetu. Omar is mine.”

  “What are you planning to do? Nothing you can do will make us talk.” Omar smirked. I smiled at him.

  “You think we tell our secrets, our gifts? I’ll let you watch Algie first, then you can see what’s in store for you. I felt their first trickle of fear. Omar sat with wide eyes as he watched Algie. He wasn’t sure what was happening, but he knew it wasn’t good.

  When Algie finished, Zetu slumped unmoving in his chair. I turned to Omar and seen the fear in his eyes. “Your turn,” I said as my mind swept through his memories. I could see the conspiracy to take over the Vaase Quadrant. The Rahu were working with the Kaussu. As I finished, Omar slumped in his chair as well. “Take them away.”

  “Algie, notify father that the some of the Rahu are now working with the Kaussu. Tell him to be careful, as there are many Rahu on Santar.” Algie nodded.

  My comm link chimed. “Commander, the Vimana is approaching. Prince Zahin is on board.”

  “Thank you, have my shuttle ready.” I said as I made my way to my quarters. Everything was happening fast. My mate appeared, then the attack from the Agrarians, and now the conspiracy with the Rahu.

  As I entered my quarters, I found Adriana wearing a beautiful light blue shimmering dress that hugged her body. It stopped at barely mid-thigh and had a low cut neckline.   “Can I go with you?”

  “I’m sorry Adriana, but you need to stay here, in our quarters. I don‘t know how they will feel about an unknown species. However, they may know about Earth if they rescued your friend.” I could feel her sadness. I knew her well enough to know she would like to question them about Eliana. “I will return as soon as possible. We can still talk, and if you are in trouble, I can flash back immediately.”

  “Why don’t you just flash over there instead of taking the shuttle?”

  “Because they have no idea of our abilities, and we like to keep it that way. I need to go. Please be safe and stay inside. I love you.”

  Chapter 8

  As I sat alone in our quarters, I decided to make some more clothes. Half of the ones I made before wouldn’t work. I needed to do something to keep my mind off Pakhi, and Eliana. I may have to make conservative clothes, but they could still be beautiful. I would just have to be creative.

  As I worked the day away, I almost missed the door chime. I hesitated for a few minutes then decided that was silly. I would stay in our quarters as promised, but I could still defend myself. I answered the door and found Cedrick standing there with a tray of food.

  “I thought you might like some company, and some food.” He said as he smiled at me. I really liked Cedrick, and Algie. They had both become good friends to me.

  “I can certainly eat. Come on in.” I led him to a table. Their food was very different, but good. I didn’t even ask what I was eating, if it tasted good, then I ate.

  “Will you tell me more about Earth?” He sounded so hopeful that I had to laugh.

  “Kenzie graduated from college and is now a nurse. She works in a nearby hospital and loves helping people. Jaylynn is in college now and she can’t decide what she wants to do. I’m sure he didn’t realize that couples could separate on Earth.

  “About half the people that get married, or mate on Earth, get divorced. They separate. We don’t have mating bonds, and we can’t talk with our minds. If we did then I suspect that everyone would be together as they can’t really lie about their feelings. I can feel Pakhi’s love for me. I can also feel when he’s happy, angry, sad, and even guilty. He felt guilty for letting Omar get near me, even though I told him it was not his fault.”

  “I understand. It’s like being blind and sometimes you do not trust in each other like you should.”

  “Or trusting too
much just to be let down,” I said as I remembered some of my failed relationships. “Now about Earth, It has blue skies, green grass, and brown trees with green leaves. The water is also blue and covers about 75% of Earth. That’s why it looks blue from space. We have one sun, and one moon. I live in the mountains in a state called Tennessee. It’s very quiet and peaceful there. It is a beautiful place and I wish that I could show it to you, Algie, and especially Pakhi.”

  “It sounds beautiful Adriana. It sounds like a place I would like to see.”

  “It would be Ok to see where I live as there are very few people that live nearby. However, you couldn’t go into towns or cities. Humans don’t know that other life forms, or aliens as we call them, exist. And there are no blue people on Earth.” I laughed at his horrified expression.

  “Your planet has not discovered space travel?”

  “We have only made it to the moon and one of the neighboring planets, but no life was found. It was a surprise when I was kidnapped.” I laughed.

  “Thank you for sharing a meal with me and telling me of your planet.” He stood to leave.

  “You are more than welcome.” I walked him to the door, and after he left I continued making my new clothes.

  “Adriana, I think your friend is here with Zahin. She is the only human I have seen besides you.” I was so excited I started to cry. I hadn’t cried since I was taken, but I was crying now. I wanted to see her, talk to her, but I mostly wanted to hug her.

  “Adriana, I know you want to see her, but it is not safe. I will find out all that I can about her and I will let you know. I will be back later tonight.” I guess that would have to do.

  As I made my way to the Bridge on the Vimana, the first thing I noticed was the light haired human female standing with Zahin. She was beautiful, but not like my Adriana. I saw two others there with Prince Zahin and the human female. Their emotions were all over the place. Eliana excused herself and left before I could meet her. Adriana would not be happy to find out that her friend was hurting. As I approached, Prince Zahin turned to me. “Prince Pakhi, it’s nice to see you again. I just wish it was under better circumstances.” He clasped my arm in greeting.

  “You as well my friend, we appreciate your assistance. My crew is working on the ship but I’m afraid we would be vulnerable until it’s fixed.”

  “We’re glad to offer any assistance you need. I know you would do the same for us.” We met for many hours and I was anxious to get back to Adriana. I boarded the shuttle and as soon as we departed, I left the pilot and flashed back to my quarters. Adriana was on her feet as soon as I arrived.

  “Was it Eliana? How was she?” I could feel she was desperate for answers. I wish I had something better to tell her.

  “It was Eliana, but I’m not sure how she was. There were four people there when I arrived. Two of them were male, one Sukararian female, and Elaina. The other female felt extremely jealous, and your friend felt betrayed and hurt. I’m not sure what was going on as she left before I was ever introduced to her. I am to attend a formal dinner soon. I hope that I can find out more then. I’m sorry Adriana.” I pulled her in for a hug as tears filled her eyes.

  “Thank you for trying. At least I know where she is.”

  “Leave it to Eliana to insist he wear one as well. I’m sure she refused to mate with him until he agreed to get the mark.” She continued to laugh and I was relieved to see her so happy.

  We were finally heading home, and I couldn’t wait to introduce Adriana to my parents. I knew they would love her as I do. We had barely made progress when I received an urgent message from Prince Zahin. Somehow, Eliana was in an E-Pod heading for the Agrarian ship.   “She is malnourished, and dehydrated. She has some bruising, but Taj is taking care of her.” I hugged Adriana. I knew what was coming next.

  “I want to see her Pakhi.”

  “No, it’s too dangerous right now. As soon as she wakes up, I’ll bring her to you.”

  “No! I want give on this Pakhi. You take me to her, or I’ll go myself. Eliana is like family, and I’m sure you would never sit here if Algie was the one

  “Ok, let’s go.” I knew I was being overly protective, but almost losing her twice has made me reluctant to let her out of our quarters.   I entered medical just as she opened her eyes. “I see you’re finally awake.” I smiled at her.

  “Do you feel well enough to get out of bed?”

  “I think so. Does Zahin know where I am?” I smiled. It was nice to know that the first thing she thought of was Zahin.

  “He does. We will be meeting the Vimana in one moon cycle.” I said as I led her down the corridor to my quarters. As we walked in, she started screaming.
