  “Yes. We didn’t even know other life existed in space. The Agrarians accidently found our planet and kidnapped my sister and our friend. Long story short, someone betrayed her and she once again found herself on an Agrarian ship. She escaped only to find herself back on Earth. Prince Pakhi is her mate, so he traveled to Earth to retrieve her and their daughter. Some of us decided to come back with them.”

  “How did you end up on our vessel?” Vat asked with curiosity.

  “Tolan and I were touring the new space station when we were ambushed by yellow men. Two of them tried to kidnap me while the others fought with Tolan. When I got loose, I ran until I rounded a corner, found an empty doorway, and then hid in a closet praying they wouldn’t find me. It worked! I felt so afraid; I actually waited for hours to come out.”

  “I think I can figure out what hours are, but what are men?”

  “Sorry, I mean males. On Earth, males are called men, and females are called women. His confusion cleared as understanding took its place. They talked a while longer. They asked about Earth, and she asked about their planet.

  When Vat had satisfied his curiosity about her and her planet, he changed the subject back to the present. “I notified Prince Pakhi that you are with us. They are waiting for us to return, which will be before you wake in the morning.” She nodded her understanding.

  Later when she was ready for sleep, she dressed in just a tee shirt and climbed into Vats bed. He changed, and after kissing her forehead, headed out the door. Kenzie laid there in the dark and all she could see was Orian, and how he had her pushed against the wall. She finally climbed out of bed and went in search of Vat. She found him lying on a couch. At her approach, he sat up.

  “Kenzie? What’s wrong?” He asked with concern.

  “Every time I close my eyes I see Orian and what he tried to do.” She hesitated. “Will you sleep with me? I feel safe with you.”

  “Are you sure Kenzie?” At her nod, he led her back to his room. He wondered how he ever thought her unattractive. She was the kindest, most caring female he had encountered, and that alone made her beautiful. They crawled into bed, she snuggled up to him, and he wrapped his arms around her.

  “Thank you for returning her. I’m not sure what happened, or how she ended up on your vessel, but thank you for bringing her back. Where is she and I’ll go get her?” Tolan asked.   “She is resting. Her clothes were ruined, and she is sleeping in a long shirt. If you have any of her belongings, you might want to take them to her.” Tolan felt slightly alarmed, but he nodded and headed back to get her some clothes to wear.

  “Can you take me to her?” Prince Pakhi asked. Adriana couldn’t wait to get her sister back, and she constantly reminded him of that. “Have you seen her yet? How is she?”

  “Give me a little time Adriana. I can’t just barge onto his vessel.”

  “Why not, you’re the Prince! I need to know that she’s Ok. God Pakhi, I can’t imagine what she went through when she went missing.”

  “Calm down Adriana. She will be back on board with you soon.” He couldn’t decide if communicating telepathic was a blessing or curse some days.

  “Right this way Prince Pakhi.” Vat turned and headed back inside, down the corridor, and into his quarters. Kenzie opened her eyes as he walked in and offered a big smile. Vat made his way over and sat down on the side of the bed. “Kenzie, we are back at the Space Station and your family is here.” She sat up, unaware of Prince Pakhi’s presence, and through her arms around Vat’s neck.

  “Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.” She hugged him tight, for she truly liked him, fangs and all.

  “You are very welcome Kenzie. If you ever need anything, I am here. You just let me know.” He hugged her back.

  Tolan arrived just in time to see Kenzie throw her arms around Vat, and he had seen enough! He marched over to them, and when Kenzie released Vat, he scooped her up into his arms. The guilt he felt over losing her had been tearing him apart. Like everyone else, he assumed the worst until the message came. He carried her into the cleansing room and handed her some clothes. “I missed you Kenzie. I was worried something bad had happened.   “It’s Ok, it wasn’t your fault. Vat and the others took good care of me.” She tried to comfort him, unaware that her words made him feel worse.

  “They shouldn’t have had to protect you. I should’ve done a better job!” Kenzie just kept quite as she realized this was a fight with himself and nothing she said would make him feel better. “You seemed cozy with the Kasei.” Could he be jealous? Surely not. She liked Vat, but more like a brother kind of way.

  “They have been very nice to me, even though they couldn’t understand me for a while.”

When she finally released her, Adriana asked, “What happened to you? Do you have any idea how worried we’ve been?” What a stupid question. Kenzie looked at her sister with one side of her mouth turned up.

  “At least I came back after three days, it took you months.” She said with a teasing voice.

  “Oh shut up Kenzie! That’s beside the point. Where the hell did you go?”

  “Adriana, watch your language.”

  “You can shut up to Pakhi! My sister was missing for three days, and I can have an emotional break down if I want to.”

  “Well, Tolan was showing me around when we were ambushed by these yellow men. While he fought with them, two other yellow men grabbed me and dragged me away.”

  “Rahu.”

  “What?”

  “Rahu. That is what the yellow men are called.” Adriana informed her.

  “Ok, the Rahu dragged me away. I knew I had to get away

While Vat and his men fought the Rahu, another one kidnapped me and took me back to Orian’s office…” she hesitated. She knew she couldn’t tell them without crying. “Vat and Kaith rescued me.” She knew they could tell by the look on her face that there was more to the story.

  “Rescued?” Tolan’s eyes narrowed.

  “Yes,” she said softly.

  “Where is this Orian now?” Tolan said with vehemence in his voice. She knew she needed to continue with the story before he interrogated her.

  “I don’t know where he is. Anyhow, after we boarded the ship again, I noticed that Kam had a bad injury, and it looked as though he may die. I found a first aid kit and sewed him up. If felt good to help someone again.”

  “Glad you’re back Kenzie.” He said with a grin on his face. “You had us all worried until the Kasei contacted us. It sounds like you’ve had quite and adventure.” Tolan glared at him. “Now we can head home, I haven’t had a female to share my bed since I started this adventure. I hate having to take care of myself.” He looked Kenzie in the eyes and he said the last part.

  She didn’t miss the way Tolan and Dar looked at each other. Finally, Tolan asked, “What would you like to know?” She didn’t understand his hesitancy.

  “Hmm, tell me what the people are like.” That should be easy enough.
